Festival Canção da Transamazônica opens final registration for 2026 Altamira music festival

The XII Festival Canção da Transamazônica (Fecant) has opened its final registration period, which will close on 10 August 2026. Participation is free and must be submitted through the festival’s official website. The competition is divided into three categories: Fecant Kids for performers aged 6‑17, Fecant Regional for original songs by composers residing in the Xingu region, and Fecant National for artists from the rest of Brazil. Each category will select 12 entries for the live competition.

The festival will take place from 24 to 26 September 2026 at the Concha Acústica Silvino Pantoja in Altamira, Pará. A total prize pool of R$ 55,500 will be awarded, with the top prize in the National category worth R$ 10,000. The event is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of Pará. Festival coordinator and singer‑songwriter Joelma Klaudia highlighted the aim of promoting Xingu‑origin music and cultural exchange. Notable guest performances are slated from singers Márcia Siqueira and Naiem.
