Festival Cervantino 2026 to feature France as guest of honor

The 54th edition of the Festival Internacional Cervantino is scheduled to take place from October 3 to October 18, 2026, in Guanajuato, Mexico. France will serve as the guest of honor to commemorate 200 years of diplomatic relations between Mexico and France.

The festival will feature 95 main artistic activities across 17 venues, including 49 concerts, 28 theatrical pieces, 48 visual art exhibitions, and 50 film screenings. To expand the festival's reach, the Circuito Cervantino 2026 will extend performances to 32 cities across 16 Mexican states from September 26 to October 28, 2026.

In conjunction with the festival, the Museo Iconográfico del Quijote has announced a specialized program from October 5 to October 26. This schedule includes film cycles, exhibitions such as ‘Extrañar el mundo. Fotografía europea del siglo XX’, and a dramaturgy workshop. While most museum activities are free, certain musical concerts will require payment.
