Festival Cordillera generates 80 billion pesos in Bogotá

The fifth edition of the Festival Cordillera, held on September 12 and 13 at Bogotá's Simón Bolívar Park, drew approximately 70,000 attendees. The event saw significant participation from domestic travelers (26.3%) and international visitors (13.7%).

The festival generated an estimated economic impact of over 80 billion Colombian pesos, benefiting sectors such as hospitality, transport, gastronomy, and commerce. It also contributed roughly 2.3 billion pesos in parafiscal contributions and supported the creation of over 55,000 direct, indirect, and induced jobs.

During the event, the initiative ‘Ecos por la Amazonía’ was launched by Páramo Impacta and NESsT. This impact investment fund aims to protect the Amazon rainforest, with festival transactions contributing to the conservation of 1,200 square meters of jungle and supporting local indigenous bio-businesses.

Musical highlights included performances by The Latin Brothers, Dread Mar I, and the Argentine cumbia group Ke Personajes. However, the scheduled performance by Mexican singer Ed Maverick was canceled due to health reasons.
