Festival dei Popoli discusses women's role in peace and community

The Festival dei Popoli has launched its 2026 edition with a series of talks focused on the theme “The Invisible Thread: Women, Peace, Community.” A featured event held in Asti, titled “The Consequences of Peace: Women Who Mend the World,” explored the vital role women play in conflict prevention, social reconstruction, and the defense of human rights.

The discussion featured Lisa Clark, Vice President of “Beati i costruttori di pace” and a prominent disarmament activist, alongside journalist Anna Pozzi, who has decades of experience reporting on humanitarian challenges in Africa and the Middle East. Moderated by journalist Giusy Baioni, the dialogue emphasized that peace is not merely the absence of war, but an active process of mediation, justice, and rebuilding social ties. The participants highlighted how women’s involvement is essential for ensuring stability and a future for new generations in fragile contexts.
