Festival dei Popoli returns to Asti with focus on women and peace
The Festival dei Popoli returns to Asti from September 25 to October 17, centered on the theme ‘Il filo invisibile: donne, pace, comunità’ (The Invisible Thread: women, peace, community). Promoted by the Diocesan Migrants Pastoral Office, the event was presented at the Bishopric in the presence of Bishop Marco Prastaro and Migrantes Office head Paolo Maccario.
The festival aims to provide a space for reflection on peace, migration, citizenship, and community building. It specifically highlights the role of women in social transformation, mediation, and inclusion, viewing their historical and social experiences as a key interpretive lens for contemporary issues such as labor and conflict. The program will feature talks, performances, book presentations, and testimonies involving over 50 participating organizations.
