Festival della Sociologia concludes in Narni
The eleventh edition of the Festival della Sociologia concluded in Narni, Italy, following a program held on October 9 and 10. Centered on the theme ‘An environment for inhabiting: spaces, lives, and rights,’ the event brought together scholars, institutions, and citizens to discuss how environmental, social, and technological transformations impact democratic coexistence.
Key sessions included a discussion on the challenges of public law regarding environment and technology, coordinated by researcher Antonio Mitrotti. The festival also featured Palestinian sociologist Sari Hanafi.
A highly attended closing session featured prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, who spoke on the relationship between housing rights, legality, and mafia infiltration in residential systems. Gratteri addressed territorial inequalities and criticized political weakness, noting that criminal organizations often fill the void left by institutions in certain regions.
