Festival du Film Francophone d’Angoulême opens with Franck Dubosc as jury president
The 19th edition of the Festival du Film Francophone d’Angoulême has opened in France. Actor and director Franck Dubosc is serving as the president of the jury for this year's event.
Dominique Besnehard, the festival's co-founder and general delegate, noted that this year's programming focuses on social issues through films addressing topics such as abortion rights, domestic violence, the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide, and online racism. Besnehard emphasized that while the films reflect contemporary society, the selection is based on cinematic quality rather than a predetermined political agenda.
The festival opened with the screening of ‘Ni vue ni connue’ by Marc Fitoussi and is expected to conclude with a cinematic adaptation of the series ‘Dix pour cent’.
