Festival Pachuco 2026 celebrates the legacy of Tin Tan

The Festival Pachuco 2026 is being held in Ciudad Juárez and El Paso to celebrate the legacy of Germán Valdés, known as ‘Tin Tan’. The event honors the 111th anniversary of the actor and singer's birth, recognizing him as an emblematic figure of border culture.

Organized by the Instituto para la Cultura del Municipio de Juárez (IPACULT), the festival includes various activities such as music, dance, theater, and photography exhibitions. A featured photographic display, ‘Ya llegó su Pachucote’, highlights the history and identity of the pachuco movement. The program also includes lectures on the origins of pachuquismo, musical performances by the Juan Valdez Big Band, and community discussions regarding the Valdés family legacy.

The festivities aim to connect new generations with the unique cultural expression of the border, which encompasses specific styles of dress, language, and music.
