Festival Hispanoamericano de Literatura hosts youth events for 900 students

More than 900 students, ranging from first-year ESO to second-year Bachillerato, participated in ten youth-oriented events during the eighth edition of the Festival Hispanoamericano de Literatura (FHL). Students from Los Llanos de Aridane and other municipalities on the island engaged with writers and literary professionals through workshops, readings, and discussions.

The programming included age-specific activities, such as storytelling sessions for children aged 7 to 9 led by Peruvian writers Katya Adaui and Patricia del Río Labarthe. For older students, workshops focused on modern literary roles, including YouTubers, podcasters, and bloggers, led by Luis Hernán Castañeda and Iván Thays.

Other sessions featured authors discussing their works and the profession of writing. In Los Llanos de Aridane, Elsa López and María del Mar Rodríguez Pérez discussed the representation of local residents as literary characters at IES José María Pérez Pulido, while María José Caro, Luis Francisco Palomino, and Carlos Dávalos spoke about journalism at IES Eusebio Barreto.
