The 54th edition of the Festival Internacional Cervantino (FIC) will expand its reach through the Circuito Cervantino, bringing programming to 32 cities across 16 Mexican states. Scheduled from September 26 to October 28, 2026, the circuit aims to decentralize culture by bringing music, dance, theater, and opera to various public spaces and theaters nationwide.

France will serve as the guest of honor for the 2026 edition, marking 200 years of diplomatic relations between Mexico and France. This partnership will focus on cooperation, co-creation, and co-production between artists from both nations.

The University of Guanajuato (UG) has also announced its visual arts program for the festival. Highlights include ‘Noire’, an immersive installation regarding civil rights resistance, and ‘Habitar lo público’, an exhibition featuring over 100 works from artists in Nuevo León. The festival's main activities will be centered in Guanajuato from October 3 to 18, 2026.
