Festival Internacional Cervantino features diverse global and local performances

The 54th Festival Internacional Cervantino (FIC) in Guanajuato featured a diverse array of international and domestic performances. As part of the France guest program, French DJ Hervé and the urban dance company MazelFreten performed at Los Pastitos, combining electronic music and choreography. Other highlights included the artist Debit, who presented a performance integrating visual arts and identity themes, and the Coro del Teatro del Bicentenario, which performed works by Maurice Duruflé.

Additionally, the Welsh choreographer Osian Meilir conducted a street performance titled ‘Qwerin’ through the streets of Guanajuato, blending traditional Welsh dance with reflections on queer identity.

Representing northern Mexico, the Compañía de Ópera de Saltillo performed at the Alhóndiga de Granaditas alongside the Banda Sinfónica del Estado de Guanajuato, directed by Adalberto Tovar. This collaboration aimed to strengthen cultural ties between the states of Coahuila and Guanajuato.
