Festival International de Hammamet 2026 showcases music star Melhem Zein and new play Testostérone

The 60th edition of the Festival International de Hammamet in Tunisia featured a comeback concert by Lebanese singer Melhem Zein on 6 August 2026. After an eight‑year absence, Zein performed for more than two hours, delivering hits such as “Ghibi Ya Chams” and classic Lebanese songs, and thanked the Tunisian audience, the Ministry of Culture, the Lebanese ambassador and fellow artist Saber Rebai.

Two days later, on 10 August 2026, the festival staged the new theatrical production “Testostérone”, written by Cyrine Gannoun and Hamdi Hadda and directed by Gannoun. The play examines male relationships, power dynamics and patriarchal structures, and will later tour France and Germany in 2027. Both events underline the festival’s role in promoting live music and contemporary theatre in the region.
