Festival International de Hammamet marks 60th anniversary with digital exhibition

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the Festival International de Hammamet has opened a digital exhibition at the Centre culturel international de Hammamet. The exhibition began on Friday 31 July 2026 at 21:30—coinciding with the historic inauguration of the Théâtre de Hammamet by President Habib Bourguiba—and will run through Sunday 2 August 2026.

The exhibition features ten digital panels that trace the festival’s six‑decade history, its artistic evolution, and notable milestones such as the involvement of Tunisian, Arab and international artists. Past luminaries highlighted include singer Oum Kalthoum, statesman Winston Churchill and composer Ziad Rahbani. Dedicated sections honour former festival directors and the 60th anniversary of Tunisia’s national television, underscoring the event’s cultural heritage. The slogan “Une mémoire vivante” (Endless Memories) emphasizes the living nature of the festival’s legacy.
