Festival planet Brno 2026 moves into second half
The Festival planet Brno, the Czech Republic's largest open‑air astronomy event, entered its second half on August 3‑9, 2026, marking the eighth edition of the festival. The week‑long program runs daily from 14:00 to 23:30 on Kraví hora in Brno and features the giant "Gigalón" model of Jupiter – the largest ever displayed at the festival – alongside a collection of photorealistic planetary models.
Visitors can enjoy open‑air cinema, outdoor lectures, hands‑on experiments, exhibitions, interactive games for all ages, and special digital‑planetarium projections. Hidden Easter‑egg clues are embedded in the Gigalón graphics, and a contest awards an astronomical telescope to a lucky participant. The event draws tens of thousands of astronomy enthusiasts from Brno and across Europe.
