Tampico and Rosario host major cultural and sporting events

Various cultural and sporting events are being organized across Latin America. In Tampico, Mexico, officials announced the second edition of the Tampico International Jazz Festival for October 2026, alongside the Gran Fondo Tampico cycling competition scheduled for September 27, which features a 135,000 peso prize pool.

In Rosario, Argentina, the city experienced a significant tourism boost, hosting over 152,000 visitors in a single week in August. This influx, driven by congresses and musical performances, generated an estimated economic impact of nearly 11 billion pesos. Additionally, the city celebrated the centenary of the Asociación Rosarina de Basquetbol with the National Mini Basketball Encounter, involving 93 clubs.

Artistic exhibitions are also prominent, including the Atelier Austral show in Tierra del Fuego, the 'Presentarse' cycle at Espacio Peces in Buenos Aires, and various student art displays in Mexico and Argentina. In Spain, the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo is hosting the first major European exhibition of Zimbabwean artist Virginia Chihota.
