Festivals draw large crowds across Canada

Various music and cultural festivals took place across Canada during the weekend of August 7–9, 2026.

At the International de montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, the Loto-Québec stage hosted a high-energy punk rock evening. The Quebecois group Vulgaires Machins performed for the first time at the event after a 30-year wait, followed by the Californian band The Offspring, which drew large crowds for a performance of their classic hits.

Other major celebrations included ÎleSoniq, a large electronic music festival held at Parc Jean-Drapeau, as well as the Festival de la Poutine, Festival Afromonde, Boots and Hearts Music Festival, and Le Festin culturel 2026.
