Festiver environmental film festival moves to online format

The 16th edition of Festiver, the Barichara Green Film Festival, will be held exclusively online via digital platforms. The festival, which focuses on environmental themes and biodiversity, will not have a physical presence in Barichara this year.

Festival director Nórida Rodríguez stated that the organization will utilize its established ‘Festiver Online’ platform to provide streaming access to the selected films. The digital format includes interactive Q&A sessions with filmmakers on social media. The event will maintain its traditional awards, including Best Debut Film and the Audience Favorite Film, which will be determined through direct voting on the platform.

The festival received 198 film submissions from 20 countries. To comply with exhibition rights, the online catalog will be geoblocked and accessible only to viewers within Colombia, requiring users to create an account for free access.
