Festus Keyamo alleges Atiku Abubakar suffers from agitated depression

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has alleged that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is suffering from ‘agitated depression.’ In a statement released on social media, Keyamo claimed that Abubakar’s frequent criticisms of President Bola Tinubu are driven by bitterness and an inability to accept the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

Keyamo suggested that Abubakar is struggling with the fact that Tinubu secured the presidency on his first attempt, whereas Abubakar has pursued the office for many years without success. The minister characterized the former Vice President’s recent political stances as ‘tantrums’ and suggested that those close to him should provide mental health support, including anti-depressants, rather than encouraging his current posturing.
