Fethiye: Man kills mother and commits suicide

A tragic incident occurred in the Çiftlik neighborhood of Fethiye, Muğla, where a man killed his mother before taking his own life.

According to reports, 50-year-old Volkan Sütçü shot his 74-year-old mother, Fatma Sütçü, with a handgun for reasons that remain unknown. Fatma Sütçü died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the head. Volkan Sütçü then used the same weapon to shoot himself. Although he was transported to Fethiye State Hospital for medical intervention, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Neighbors expressed shock at the event, stating they had never witnessed any arguments between the mother and son and that they appeared to get along well. Gendarmerie teams have launched an investigation to determine the motive and gather evidence regarding the incident.
