Feyenoord appoints new women's head coach and set‑piece specialist

Feyenoord announced that 30‑year‑old Marc Pieters has been promoted to head coach of its women's first team, Feyenoord Vrouwen 1. Pieters, who has been an assistant with the squad since joining the club in summer 2023, signed a contract running until mid‑2027. The club said the appointment emphasizes continuity, noting Pieters knows the players, staff and club culture. Head of Women’s Football Manon Melis said, “Marc fits perfectly with the direction we have set,” and Pieters expressed pride in taking the role.

In a parallel move, Feyenoord also added 49‑year‑old Rody Hoegee to its technical staff as a set‑piece coach. Hoegee, a former goalkeeper coach, gained recognition for his work at Spanish side CD Castellón, where his tactics made the team one of the top performers in Europe for corners and free‑kicks. He joins head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team as the club seeks to improve dead‑ball situations.

Both appointments underline Feyenoord’s focus on staff stability and specialist expertise across its men’s and women’s programs.
