Feyenoord eyes strong start under new coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst

Midfielder Luciano Valente, who missed the Dutch World Cup squad, said he is now focused on his second full season at Feyenoord and does not rule out a future captaincy. He told ESPN, "Elke moment dat je dicht bij Oranje kan zitten, ben je trots" and added that the departure of Timon Wellenreuther opens a leadership vacancy.

Defender Anel Ahmedhodzic described training under Giovanni van Bronckhorst as "heel intens" and noted the coach’s high expectations. He stressed the need for more consistency after a disappointing prior campaign. The club also added Mika Mármol and is monitoring the recovery of Thomas Beelen, giving Van Bronckhorst a broader squad to shape a more competitive Feyenoord side.
