Feyenoord management faces harsh criticism over financial and transfer policies

Journalist Valentijn Driessen has issued a harsh critique of Feyenoord's new management, calling for the Supervisory Board to intervene regarding General Director Robert Eenhoorn and Technical Director Dévy Rigaux.

Driessen criticizes Eenhoorn for hesitating to execute a previously agreed-upon plan to repurchase shares from the ‘Vrienden van Feyenoord’. This group, which provided €32 million in 2010 to prevent financial collapse, holds approximately 49 percent of the club's shares. While a phased repurchase agreement was established in 2018 to grant the club full autonomy, Driessen argues that Eenhoorn’s preference to prioritize squad spending over this buyout is an irresponsible financial decision.

Additionally, Technical Director Dévy Rigaux is under fire for his handling of the transfer market. Driessen suggests that Rigaux failed to secure a significant transfer fee for Givairo Read, which was reportedly offered at €30 million, and argues that a failure to generate substantial transfer income during the summer window would constitute a failure in his role.
