Feyenoord manager addresses violence and injury concerns

Feyenoord manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst addressed several issues ahead of his team’s upcoming Eredivisie match against ADO Den Haag. During a press conference, Van Bronckhorst commented on the recent fireworks violence during the SC Cambuur vs. Feyenoord match, which resulted in seven injuries. He stated that the attention given to the incident is “terecht” (justified) and expressed frustration that such violence persists despite existing rules. He suggested that Dutch clubs could consult with international associations, noting that fireworks have been largely banned in Spain.

Regarding squad availability for the match against ADO Den Haag, Van Bronckhorst noted several injury concerns. Gonçalo Borges remains a doubt following a previous knock, while long-term absentees include Jordan Bos, Thomas Beelen, Jakub Moder, and Bart Nieuwkoop. Gijs Smal has recently faced a minor setback in his recovery process.

Despite the recent unrest, no additional security measures will be implemented for the upcoming home fixture against ADO Den Haag. Feyenoord will continue to travel without supporters for their next away matches against NEC and PEC Zwolle.
