Feyenoord postpones multi-million euro share buyback

Feyenoord has decided to postpone the planned buyback of shares from the 'Vrienden van Feyenoord' investor group. While former general director Dennis te Kloese had nearly finalized the dossier to repurchase the shares, new director Robert Eenhoorn has opted to delay the operation to assess the club's remaining financial capacity following the transfer period.

The buyback was initially intended to cover approximately half of the shares, costing an estimated 15 million euros, with a full buyout potentially reaching 29 million euros. Eenhoorn intends to prioritize other financial obligations, including squad investments and necessary maintenance for De Kuip stadium.

The investor group, which holds a 49 percent stake acquired 16 years ago to stabilize the club's finances, has expressed support for this decision. By delaying the buyout, the group retains its rights to representation on the supervisory and board councils.
