Feyenoord seeks left-back reinforcement amid injury setbacks
Feyenoord is facing significant challenges in the left-back position due to injuries to Jordan Bos and Gijs Smal. Manager Dennis van Bronckhorst confirmed that Bos is expected to be sidelined until the winter break.
Gijs Smal has also suffered a setback after sustaining a new injury during training in Marbella. This injury is reportedly different from his previous hip injury. The club has been managing his training to ensure fitness for the new season, but the recent setback has extended his period of unavailability.
To address the shortage, Feyenoord is working to secure the signing of Spanish left-back Javi López on a loan deal with an option to buy for €7 million. While the transfer market has been quiet recently, the club's management is actively working behind the scenes to finalize the move, pending medical examinations and paperwork.
