Feyenoord opens preseason with 6-0 victory over Dordrecht

Feyenoord began its pre‑season under new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst with a dominant 6‑0 friendly win against FC Dordrecht. Goals came from Calvin Stengs, Luciano Valente, Gonçalo Borges (penalty and a second from open play), Tobias van den Elshout and Diarra, while the squad also featured several debutants.

Van Bronckhorst praised the performance, noting the team displayed the quick, direct style he wants and that the players executed the concepts practiced in training. He highlighted the defensive compactness, high‑tempo ball possession and the ability to create chances. The coach also welcomed the addition of new technical staff – goalkeeper coach Justin Merz, set‑piece coach Rody Hoegee and academy liaison Davey van den Berg – completing the coaching team for the 2026/27 season.

Forward Gonçalo Borges spoke about his personal development, emphasizing improved decision‑making in the final third and his ongoing Dutch language lessons. The club now looks ahead to future friendlies against Club Brugge and Charleroi, followed by a training camp in Belgium and further matches before the Eredivisie campaign starts.
