Fez Administrative Court upholds rejection of RNI women's list
The Administrative Court of Fez has upheld the decision to reject the regional women's candidacy list for the National Rally of Independents (RNI) in the Fez-Meknes region. The court ruled against the appeal filed by the list's representative, Wafaa El Aouni.
The rejection stems from the list being submitted after the legal deadline. The candidacy process faced complications after the initial list was rejected by local authorities due to a candidate having a prior suspended prison sentence for fraud. Although the party attempted to rectify the list and resubmit it, the revised version was filed less than fifteen minutes before the legal deadline expired, leading to its disqualification by the Ministry of Interior.
In a separate matter, authorities in Moulay Yacoub also rejected a candidacy list for the Popular Movement party led by Youssef Baba, citing a loss of eligibility following court rulings related to money laundering.
