Fez hosts 18th Festival of Sufi Culture and World Wisdom
The 18th edition of the Festival of Sufi Culture and World Wisdom has commenced in Fez, Morocco. Held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, the festival runs from October 17 to October 24.
The theme for this year is ‘Mystical poetry, elixir of healing,’ focusing on the connection between poetic expression, spirituality, and the human experience. The event features a diverse program including Moroccan Sufi chants, international musical traditions, intellectual meetings, workshops, and exhibitions.
The opening ceremony at Bab Al Makina, titled ‘Paths of Spiritual Love,’ honored the poetic and musical legacy of Sidi Mohammed Al-Harrâq. The performance, led by Youssef El Houssaini and featuring Moroccan singer Nabyla Maan and Spanish artist Vicente Muñoz Gelo, blended spiritual chants, Arab-Andalusian hadra, madih, and flamenco.
