FFIB celebrates football milestones in Ibiza ahead of centenary

The Federació de Futbol de les Illes Balears (FFIB) is conducting a series of commemorative events leading up to its centenary in 2026.

In Ibiza, the Can Misses hospital hosted a recognition ceremony involving various local authorities ahead of a football match between Spain and Romania. The event served to strengthen institutional ties and celebrate the growth of football within the Balearic Islands.

Additionally, the FFIB held the ‘Gala del Fútbol Pitiuso 2026’ at the Auditori Caló de s’Oli. This ceremony honored clubs, athletes, and individuals who have contributed to the development of football in Ibiza and Formentera. Notable awards included the Centenary Gold Shield presented to twelve sports journalists for their careers, as well as recognitions for league champions and top goalscorers.
