Nuevo León authorities seize 303,000 liters of suspected illegal fuel

The Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) seized more than 303,000 liters of suspected illegal fuel during a search of a property in the Las Puentes community, located in the Montemorelos municipality of Nuevo León.

During the operation, federal agents from the Agencia de Investigación Criminal (AIC) discovered extensive equipment used for the storage and handling of hydrocarbons. The seized items include six storage tanks, two frac tank containers, 229 cubitanks, a tank semi-trailer, a trailer, and a forklift. Additionally, authorities confiscated four pumping units, an electric generator, a concrete mixer, and various chemical products.

Investigators also found 50 sacks containing a white powder, the composition of which has not yet been determined. Federal prosecutors are continuing their investigation to establish the origin of the substances and identify those responsible for the potential crimes against hydrocarbons. The operation involved specialists from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and security support from the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and local police.
