Făgăraș and Șona Host Third Outdoor Painting Festival ‘Țara Făgărașului prin Artă’

The third edition of the cultural project "Țara Făgărașului prin Artă" will take place from 4 to 9 August in the village of Șona and the town of Făgăraș, Romania. More than 30 visual artists from Romania and the diaspora will paint outdoors, inspired by the heritage and landscapes of the Făgăraș region. The program includes interactive workshops for children, parents and grandparents, allowing the whole community to engage in drawing and painting activities.

On 7 August, artists will set up easels around the historic Cetatea Făgărașului, turning the promenade into a day‑long open‑air studio. The festival will conclude with two exhibitions: on 8 August at the Community Space – Ruina Teatrului Șona, and on 9 August at the Creation Center of the Museum of the Făgăraș Region "Valer Literat". A special initiative, "Păstrătorii de Artă – Odaia cu Picturi", will donate selected works to the Șona community. The event is organized by Mariana Șerban, founder of Grupul Phoenix, the School of Painting "Sunt Artă" and GaleriArt România.
