Făgăraș City Hall invests in renewable energy and storage

The Făgăraș City Hall is advancing plans to transition to renewable energy sources to reduce local administration costs. The municipality has contracted Roener Energypro S.R.L. for 270,000 lei (excluding VAT) to develop a feasibility study for new green energy production and storage capacities.

This initiative follows the recent signing of a contract for a 2 MW photovoltaic park near the former industrial complex. The city aims to participate in a new Ministry of Energy program designed to support investments in renewable energy production, specifically solar power, with integrated storage systems for self-consumption. The program will operate on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis, with funding applications opening in late September 2026.
