FGTS: Birthday withdrawals begin for September births amid profit distribution

Workers born in September who have opted for the FGTS 'saque-aniversário' (birthday withdrawal) modality can begin withdrawing a portion of their available balance starting September 1. This optional model allows for annual withdrawals based on a progressive percentage of the total account balance, plus a fixed additional installment. However, choosing this method means workers lose the right to withdraw the full balance in the event of dismissal without cause, retaining only the annual installment and the rescission fine.

Additionally, the FGTS has distributed R$ 13.04 billion in profits to approximately 138.2 million Brazilians, representing 89% of the fund's total R$ 14.7 billion profit. These funds are credited directly to workers' accounts, resulting in an approximate 1.87% increase in balances recorded as of December 31, 2025. These profits are integrated into the total balance and are subject to the same legal restrictions for withdrawal as regular deposits.
