Vet Plus, Inc., the manufacturer behind the Fi brand, has issued a recall for two dog supplements due to potential Salmonella contamination. The issue stems from an ingredient provided by an external supplier. The manufacturer has suspended production while an investigation is conducted.

The recalled products include 180-gram containers of the following: • Fi Calming supplement for Dogs (Lot 26118, UPC 8 50064 80011 1) • Fi 8-in-1 Formula supplement for Dogs (Lot 26159, UPC 8 50055 11168 4)

These products were distributed directly to consumers and through online retailers Amazon and Chewy.com.

Salmonella poses a risk to both pets and humans. Infected dogs may exhibit symptoms such as lethargy, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Humans can be infected by handling the contaminated supplements, touching surfaces exposed to the product, or coming into contact with animal waste from an infected pet. Symptoms in humans include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, and fever.

Consumers are advised to stop using the affected products immediately, seal the containers tightly, and dispose of them in the trash. Pet owners whose animals have consumed the supplements and are showing symptoms should contact a veterinarian.
