FIA and Cosmobilis launch new era for WRC championship
The FIA and the new promoter for the World Rally Championship (WRC), led by the Cosmobilis group and Park Square Capital, have launched a new era for the sport. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem described the commercial rights agreement as the ‘deal of the century,’ noting that the new structure aims to function as a single body with the promoter to ensure a shared vision.
The partnership focuses on injecting capital back into the championship, improving logistics, and increasing media exposure. A key technical goal is to make rally cars more accessible by reducing costs by more than 60% while maintaining safety and performance. The initiative also seeks to support privateer drivers and enhance the overall spectacle for fans through digitalization and improved sustainability efforts.
