FIA arrests five travelers in Karachi for Umrah visa misuse

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration has arrested five passengers at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi for misusing Umrah visas to travel illegally abroad. The detainees were handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further investigation.

Four passengers, identified as Muhammad Yasin, Malik Subhan, Abdullah Khan, and Abdul Basit, were deported from Northern Cyprus. Investigations revealed they originally traveled to Saudi Arabia on valid Umrah visas but were allegedly moved to Northern Cyprus on fraudulent study visas by human smuggling agents. The agents reportedly charged them millions of rupees for these fake documents and university admission letters.

A fifth passenger, Imamuddin, was arrested after being deported from Algeria. He had traveled to Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa but was allegedly deceived by an agent named Haider Ali, who promised to send him to Europe for 1.5 million rupees. Instead, he was illegally sent to Libya, where he was detained while attempting to enter Algeria via sea or land. He spent approximately ten months in illegal detention before being deported to Pakistan.
