FIA arrests IEIS Consultants CEO in UK visa fraud case
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has arrested Wasil Azad, the CEO of IEIS Consultants, in connection with a UK student visa fraud case. During the operation, authorities recovered Rs 1.6 million, representing the full amount owed to the complainant.
According to investigators, the fraud involved the visa application of Muhammad Zahid’s wife. The suspects allegedly instructed the complainant to deposit £4,000 via an online payment link for Teesside University in the UK. However, the required visa documents were not submitted by the deadline, preventing the woman from traveling for her studies and resulting in the loss of the funds.
When the complainant sought a refund, he was allegedly threatened by the suspects. The case has been registered under the Emigration Ordinance of 1979 and various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. While Azad has been arrested, the roles of other named suspects, including directors Salman and Zulqarnain and a consultant named Sadia, are still under investigation.
