FIA European Drag Racing Championship resumes at Sweden's Tierp Arena

The FIA European Drag Racing Championship (EDRC) returned to action from 6‑9 August 2026 at Tierp Arena in Sweden, marking the second round of the 2026 season. Around 280 competitors entered across four FIA categories, including the European Drag Racing Championship, the FIM Europe Motorcycle Drag Racing Championship and the Summit Racing EDRS Series.

Reigning Top Fuel champion Susanne Callin led the standings on home soil, while rookie Colin Millar held third place. Three‑time European champion Timo Habermann set new European elapsed‑time and speed records with a 5.192‑second run at 280.47 mph, securing the event win. The round also featured the debut of Hampus Staflund’s A‑Fuel Funny Car, the first of its kind in the Top Methanol class. Notable participants included Jere Rantaniemi, Michael Gullqvist, and a strong contingent of Swedish drivers.

The event concluded with 22 drivers from seven nations competing for 16 Pro Modified elimination spots, keeping the championship battle wide open.
