Fiat eyes youth market with Abarth‑styled Topolino; DuoExo launches lightweight sports car

Fiat is studying an Abarth‑styled version of its electric Topolino quadricycle aimed at younger drivers aged 16‑17 in Italy. Global Fiat president Olivier François described the project as a “dream” and said development has already begun. The model, which led the European L6e quadricycle market in 2025 with about 20% share, would receive aesthetic upgrades such as redesigned bumpers, scorpion emblems and sport‑inspired interior touches, while retaining its 8.2 hp motor, 45 km/h speed limit and 75 km range.

In the United States the Topolino will require a conversion kit to meet local regulations, adding a rear‑view mirror, reverse camera and pedestrian alerts to allow legal travel on 35‑mph streets.

Separately, Brazilian automotive startup DuoExo is set to debut the DuoExo Track, an ultra‑light (≈800 kg) two‑seat sports car powered by a 250 hp Ford 2.0 L EcoBoost turbocharged engine. The car claims 0‑100 km/h in about 4.5 seconds and a top speed over 225 km/h. Its chassis combines carbon‑fiber bodywork with a steel‑tube frame, delivering a weight‑to‑power ratio of roughly 3.2 kg per hp. The official launch will take place at the Festival Interlagos at São Paulo’s Autódromo between 27 and 30 August 2026, targeting the growing track‑day enthusiast community in Brazil.
