Fiat Launches Panda Hybrid and New Argo Compact for Brazil

Fiat has introduced the 2026 Panda Hybrid, a city car equipped with a 1.0‑litre mild‑hybrid powertrain that delivers 70 hp and up to 20 % lower CO₂ emissions compared with the conventional 1.2‑litre unit. The model features a Belt‑Integrated Starter Generator, an 11 Ah lithium‑ion battery, 7‑inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a sport‑styled trim with 16‑inch bi‑colour alloy wheels. Although it lacks some advanced driver‑assistance systems such as lane‑keep assist, the Panda Hybrid aims to combine efficiency with urban‑friendly design.

In Brazil, Fiat is preparing a new version of the Argo compact, built on Stellantis’ Smart platform shared with the Citroën C3. The prototype showcases a robust look with 17‑inch wheels, a black glossy grille, and a blue‑Amalfi paint option. Safety upgrades include a camera‑based ADAS suite (automatic high‑beam, emergency braking, lane‑keeping and traffic‑sign recognition) and six airbags as standard – a first for a vehicle produced at Fiat’s Betim plant. Interior appointments are more subdued than the European Grande Panda, featuring black leather‑like upholstery and a manual hand‑brake. The model is positioned to meet Brazilian market preferences for durability and advanced safety.

Both launches underscore Fiat’s strategy to refresh its compact‑car lineup with greener powertrains and enhanced safety technology across its European and South‑American markets.
