Fiat Panda gains attention through automotive reviews and mobile cafe use
The Fiat Panda continues to draw attention through diverse lenses, from automotive criticism to unconventional entrepreneurship. Former Top Gear host James May recently reviewed the new Fiat Grande Panda, describing the hybrid model as an ‘appliance on wheels.’ While praising its honesty, build quality, and practical interior features like physical climate controls, May noted a lack of the ‘fizz’ or driving excitement found in previous generations, suggesting the new model prioritizes lifestyle and branding over the original driving experience.
In a different application of the iconic vehicle, an entrepreneur in New York has repurposed a Fiat Panda into a mobile cafe. Asher von Stein, founder of Ciao Vagante, uses the Italian utility vehicle to serve espresso and cappuccino at markets in Brooklyn, including Fort Greene and Greenpoint. The project leverages the Panda’s historical reputation for practicality and economy to create a unique, mobile business presence in the city.
