Fiat sales collapse in the United States
Fiat is experiencing a severe sales decline in the United States. During the third quarter of 2026, spanning July to September, the brand recorded only 54 total vehicle sales across the entire country. Of these, 52 were the electric Fiat 500e, while the remaining two were 500X models from dealer inventory.
This represents a significant drop compared to the same period in 2025, when the company sold 321 vehicles, marking an 83% decrease. The sales of the 500e specifically fell from 288 units to 52 units. For the first nine months of 2026, total sales reached 291 units, down from 1,237 during the same period the previous year.
In contrast, Alfa Romeo sold 569 vehicles in the same quarter, performing more than ten times better than Fiat. While Fiat is investing in new models like the Grande Panda, Grizzly, and Grizzly Fastback for the European market, its presence in the U.S. remains heavily reliant on the 500e, which has failed to gain significant traction despite rising fuel costs.
