Fiat to Keep Combustion Panda While Adding All‑Electric Model

Fiat is evaluating an extension of the existing internal‑combustion Fiat Panda while simultaneously developing a new 100 % electric model for the entry‑level segment. The current Panda accounts for around 7 % of Italy’s monthly market share and represented over 70 % of Fiat’s new‑car registrations in Italy in 2025, prompting the brand to maintain an affordable, efficient option for customers not yet ready to switch to full electrification. The company, part of the Franco‑Italian‑American Stellantis group, is considering retaining the Panda name for both power‑train versions or introducing a new designation for the electric variant.

In addition, Fiat has introduced the Grande Panda Turbo 100, a gasoline‑powered version equipped with a 1.2 L three‑cylinder turbo engine delivering 100 hp and 205 Nm of torque. The model boasts a fuel consumption of about 18 km/l, a top speed of 160 km/h and accelerates 0‑100 km/h in 10.6 seconds. Pricing starts at €17,900, falling to €15,900 after a trade‑in discount, offering a €2,000 saving compared with the mild‑hybrid version and €6,000 versus the forthcoming electric model.
