Fiat 500 ‘Topolino’ celebrates 90th anniversary with events in Turin and Monaco

June 2026 marked the 90th anniversary of the Fiat 500 ‘Topolino’, the compact car first presented in June 1936 that helped bring motoring to the Italian masses. The milestone was celebrated with a four‑day international rally in Turin from 11 to 14 June, where 132 crews from ten European and extra‑European countries toured historic sites, attended a gala dinner at the Heritage Hub in Mirafiori and took part in an assemblee of the European Fiat Topolino Clubs. The event highlighted the car’s legacy, displaying restored B‑ and C‑series models, original advertising artwork and a pre‑series chassis.

A related celebration took place in Monaco on 18‑19 July. Organized by the Club Fiat 500 Monte‑Carlo under the patronage of the Italian Embassy, the sixth Monaco International Meeting of Historic Fiat 500s featured a 1970s theme, a scenic drive along the Monte‑Carlo Rally route, visits to the Prince Albert II Collection, a parade through the streets of Monaco and a tribute concert. Both gatherings underscored the Topolino’s enduring cultural significance, with more than 376,000 units produced between 1936 and 1955.
