FIB Commander visits Kenyan peacekeeping forces in Mambasa

Brigadier General Alexander Masangura, Commander of the Force Intervention Brigade (FIB), visited Kenya’s 5th Quick Reaction Force (KENQRF 5) in Mambasa Territory, Ituri Province. The contingent has been deployed for over a month to support MONUSCO’s mandate of protecting civilians through operational readiness and community engagement.

During the visit, Masangura commended the troops for their professionalism and their role in promoting stability. The mission included community-focused initiatives, such as donating sports kits and installing goalposts at Bavalakaniki football ground to encourage youth engagement. Additionally, the force provided construction materials to assist in the completion of the Masjid Taqwa Mosque, a project that had been stalled for eight years.
