FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2026 to be held in Beijing
FIBA has officially announced the participants and schedule for the 2026 Intercontinental Cup. For the first time in its 60-year history, the prestigious tournament will move from Singapore to Beijing, China, where it will take place from September 22 to September 27.
Six teams will compete across two groups. Group A features Rytas Vilnius (Lithuania), Shanghai Sharks (China), and RSSB Tigers (Rwanda). Group B consists of Boca Juniors (Argentina), the host Beijing Royal Fighters (China), and the NBA G League United (USA).
The NBA G League United is the only participant with prior experience, having reached the finals in the two previous editions. The other five teams will be making their tournament debuts. The tournament format includes a group stage, followed by semifinals on September 26 and a grand final on September 27.
