Fiber optic expansion developments in Ahaus and Kippenheim

Fiber optic expansion projects are progressing in different regions of Germany. In Ahaus, a subsidized project aimed at connecting 450 locations in peripheral areas has been completed, utilizing funding from federal, state, and local authorities.

In Kippenheim, the expansion process has faced delays after Deutsche Glasfaser's construction partner filed for insolvency. While civil engineering work is temporarily paused, the company is searching for a new partner with the goal of completing construction by the first quarter of 2027. Local officials and Breitband Ortenau have stated that completing the expansion remains a priority, and efforts are underway to activate existing house connections by the end of the year.
