Ficohsa and Visa launch TapiYa for real-time payments in Honduras

Grupo Ficohsa and Visa have introduced TapiYa, a new technological tool designed to facilitate real-time fund reception in Honduras. Integrated into the Ficohsa mobile application, the service aims to accelerate digital transactions and reduce reliance on cash.

Users can request payments through three primary methods: contactless Visa card transactions, QR codes, or shared payment links. Eligible customers receive funds directly into their bank accounts in real time. The service supports payments made via Visa debit or credit cards issued within Honduras.

The Honduran Council of Private Enterprise (COHEP) recognized the initiative, noting that such technological advancements contribute to financial inclusion and the modernization of the country's digital economy.
