Fidapa Livorno inaugurates commemorative bench for founding members

The Fidapa section of Livorno has inaugurated a commemorative bench overlooking the sea between Baracchina Rossa and L’Ostricaio. The initiative serves to honor the founding members of the Livorno section, who established a new path for women in the city nearly sixty years ago.

Fidapa President Daniela Armani described the bench as a work of art and a legacy for the city. The association has entered a three-year collaboration agreement with the Municipality of Livorno to manage the site. This gesture is part of a series of initiatives leading up to January 17, 2027, which will mark the 60th anniversary of Fidapa Livorno.

During the ceremony, Vice Mayor Libera Camici emphasized the symbolic value of the installation, noting it honors the women of 1967 who asserted their role in society. Regional Vice President Mia Diop also attended, highlighting the importance of remembering the struggles fought for rights that remain vital today.
