FIDE Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities progresses in Samarkand

The 3rd FIDE Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities is underway in Samarkand. Following the first round, eight teams maintained perfect records through the second round, including the Philippines, Cuba, Israel, Argentina, the Czech Republic, IBCA, India, and Germany.

In the second round, Cuba defeated Serbia with a score of 3–1. The Serbian team secured a 3–1 victory against Vietnam in their opening match, featuring performances by FM Živić, Jovan Pavićević, FM Danko Bokan, and Jovana Pavićević. Other notable second-round results included Israel defeating Ukraine 3–1, Germany beating Kazakhstan 3–1, and India securing a 3½–½ win over Uzbekistan.

The upcoming third round will feature direct matchups between the tournament leaders, including the Philippines against Cuba and Israel against Argentina.
